I have been using this product for some time now as i suffer with hypothyroidism, so this does help take the edge of some of the low mood symptoms. up until recently I used to buy this from health food stores or another reptable online company but it was so expensive, i now also buy this for my son who for his changing mood swings because of canibis use, he now have given up! amazing, the research of this product speaks for its self, people who are low in seritonin tend to become prone to addictions! anyway I thought this site was very cheap so I've given it a go, the only neg is that the capsule I thought is very hard but I suppose i'll get used to it, so far so good and I will be using it again. i had been experiencing more severe PMD symptoms for some time- it was gradually getting worse. Not so much the bloating or cramps but the mood & temprament was horrendous. I felt myself being overly sensitive or enraged and could feel real rage bubbling up inside me. I could hear myself saying things and see myself as though I was outside my body but couldnt stop myself. It was having a devastating effect on my family life. I had been on anti-depressants for about 18mths a couple of years ago for another issue and really didnt like the idea of 1) being on something you could become depnedent on & 2) not knowing if I was getting better or just thought i was.
My GP suggested going back onto anti-depresssants to manage the PMD but for the reasons I mentioned- I really wasnt keen. I did some research and was generally happy with the overall reviews for 5HTP. I know it doesnt suit everyone, but for those that it does work for, it makes a big difference,so decided to give it a go.
Ive been taking it since late August. 2 in the morning & one at night and the difference has been incredible. I still get a bit tetchy around 'that time'- but it's negligible to how I was before- there's much less chance of me being arrested for murder!! I also combine it with Agnus Castus when I know Im ovulating until my period starts & it works a charm

What I love about the Healthspark product is that not only is the price fantastic but they have so many products that are not in gelatin casings which not many other companies do, (Posted on 02/02/2012)

I've tried most of the commercial SSRIs - including Prozac and Seroxat. The side-effects are quite bad. I felt sluggish and had a lack of sexual appetite.

i was looking to purchase 5htp for sleep problems at a more affordable price and found HEALTHSPARK through google, i called healthspark the day after with questions regarding their 5htp and the difference in theirs and another leading suppliier from the high street, the member of staff i spoke to answered all my questions efficiently and i ordered some the same day. I was shocked and very happy when the order came the very next day and i can say that the 5htp is of excellent quality if not better than the brand i was buying from the hight street.
For anyone suffering from depression and/or sleep problems i would highly recommend you research then buy this product rather than going down the route of antidepressnets, it really is a life saver and i have had ZERO side effects.

i have been taken 2 tablets per day for the last
2 months. I have slept like a baby 95% of the time. I wouldn't say they help depression or anxiety that much but if you are sleeping well you automatically feel better. (Posted on 26/01/2011)
