5-HTP
What is 5-HTP?
5-Hydroxytryptophan or 5HTP is a naturally occurring amino acid from which the neurotransmitter serotonin is made. Serotonin appears to play significant roles in sleep, emotional moods, pain control, inflammation, intestinal peristalsis, and other body functions.
The human body manufactures 5-HTPfrom L-tryptophan, a natural amino acid found in most dietary proteins. However eating food that contains L-tryptophan does not significantly increase 5-HTP levels.
Health Spark 5-HTP capsules contain extracts from the Griffonia Seed a West African Plant, using a specially developed process that retains as much of the active components of 5-HTP as possible.
What Does 5-HTP Do?
5-HTP, being its precursor, may help to maintain healthy brain serotonin levels.
Imbalances in serotonin may be responsible for mood disorders, pain, morning stiffness, sleep disturbances, anxiety, headaches and appetite.
