How Does the Calista Saliva Ovulation Tester Work
Your hormone activity during ovulation affects your body in numerous ways and as a result is easily identifiable in bodily fluids such as urine, blood and saliva.
Saliva as a measure of fertility has however been overlooked.
Now well-documented research has identified a distinct correlation between hormonal activity and a process known as saliva-ferning, which can be observed through a microscope
Calista is a powerful pocket microscope and a method of observing saliva-ferning to help identify the fertile and infertile periods during your monthly cycle.
How Do You Use The Calista Ovulation Test Device?
- You use your finger to take a sample of saliva from your tongue making sure it's not foamy or bubbly. You then apply this saliva evenly onto the glass.
- Next, you allow to dry for 5 minutes before you insert the eyepiece back into the optical tube.
- You then put the eyepiece to your eye and push the white button not he base of the tester. Carefully focus the image by turning the optical part until the image is clear.
- Compare the image you see with the ones in the instructions booklet and you can easily see whether you are at your infertile period, becoming fertile or at your most fertile period.

Who is it NOT Suitable For?
The Calista Ovulation Tester Kit is Not suitable for:
- Women with poor vision (unless someone can help you)
- Women in advanced menopause
- Women under hormonal contraception
- Women who have been pregnant IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS
- Women receiving fertility drugs such as clomiphene citrate since these drugs cause an increase in hormone levels which will induce ferning.
