What is Maca?

Lepidium meyenii, known commonly as maca, is a plant and root vegetable native to the high Andes of Peru and Bolivia.It is the root which is used in Food Supplements.

What Does Maca Do?

The nutritional value of dried maca root is high, similar to cereal grains such as rice and wheat. The average composition is 60% carbohydrates, 10% protein, 8.5% dietary fiber, and 2.2% fats.
Maca is rich in essential minerals, especially selenium, calcium, magnesium, and iron, and includes fatty acids including linolenic acid, palmitic acid, and oleic acids, and 19 amino acids, as well as polysaccharides.
Maca's high concentration of proteins and vital nutrients, including a chemical called p-methoxybenzyl isothiocyanate, may help to maintain healthy sexual function.

Ingredients List per capsule:
Maca Root (Lepidium meyenii) Powdered Extract 4:1 250mg
whole root equivalent 1000mg
Capsule Shell: Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose

Directions for Use:
Take 1 capsule daily with food.
Do not exceed recommended amount unless directed by a physician.

I ordered the Maca Root capsules. They were slightly more expensive than other sites, however they were processed and delivered and on my door mat within 2 days of ordering them (with standard delivery option) which was fantastic.
